“Between 1995 and 2008, I was the administrator of the Alliance for Building Community, the regional partnership for southeastern Vermont, and in 2007-8 the coordinator of the statewide regional partnership network. In that capacity, I often crossed paths with Doug Racine.

He was a champion in the formation of the early childhood councils around the State which now have evolved into Building Bright Futures. He co-founded the Child Poverty Council and searched out models of best practice, such as the Molly Stark Elementary School in Bennington, which is a full service community school. Full service community schools provide necessary services such as childcare, health care, nutrition, and counseling that are crucial supports for both parents and children.

I especially appreciate the way he consults with Vermonters of various points of view and political persuasion before moving forward on an initiative. Doug is a good listener. For that reason, and for all these others, I support his candidacy for Governor.”
