Reformer: Racine drums up support in Putney

[...]In Putney on Saturday, Racine said the next governor will have to address the state’s fiscal crisis before hoping to put resources into any of the other challenges facing Vermont.
“We are going through tough times now and anything we want to do is going to cost money,” Racine said. “Everything starts with a strong economy. That is what is going to give us the resources we need to help families.”
Racine said he supported dipping into the state’s rainy day funds now to help fill some of the budget gap that is slowing down the recovery.
He also said he supported a tax increase to the state’s highest wage earners.
